The Stockholm Gaels Ladies Football Team was founded in 2010 by Anna Rönngård (former Asian Champion with the Shanghai Sirens) and Philip O’Connor. The team are dedicated to providing a fun, friendly sporting environment for everyone that joins us! We welcome beginners every year and have had great players from Spain, France, Belgium, Germany, Scotland, England, New Zealand, and of course Sweden and Ireland!
We played in our first Gaelic Football tournament in Copenhagen in 2011. Since then, the team has gone from strength to strength! We came 4th in the Pan-European Tournament in Brussels in 2011, 5th in the Pan-European Tournament in Limerick in 2011, won the Nordic Championship in 2012, and came 5th in the European Tournament in Vienna the same year. We have come a close second to Malmö in the Nordic Championships 2013 and 2014, but plan to be back to our winning ways in 2015!
We train twice a week from February until October, and we have many social events throughout the year.
